I specialize in working with adults wanting to address emotional, mental, and health-related challenges in order to develop more resilient, effective, and healthy lives. Specifically, I work with adult clients to help them manage anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship and family conflict, grief and loss, and chronic or unexpected health crises.

I use a collaborative, strengths-based approach to help clients better understand their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors in the context of their relationships with others and their life experiences. Whether you have short term goals or longer term issues, in the process of our work together, we will seek to expand the necessary skills to cope with the challenges life presents, and enhance the health of mind, body, and relationships.

Fees

Our sessions will be between 45-50 minutes in length and are billed at $120 per session. However, many clients have insurance plans with whom I have a different contract rate. Under these circumstances, clients are only responsible for the deductible and/or co-payments specified by their insurance plan. My policy is for clients to pay their portion of my fee at the time of their appointment. While I will submit claims to your insurance company, I do not send bills out to clients.

  • Self-Pay Option – If you do not have insurance or choose not to use it, then I will discuss a self-pay fee option with you. This may be my full fee or a reduced fee depending on financial circumstances and the nature of the services being required.
  • Other Services – There are certain services that I may be called upon to provide that will be charged at different rates (i.e. court appearances, depositions, report preparations). These services are not typically covered by insurance plans, and these costs will be discussed and agreed to prior to the provision of services.
  • Missed Appointments and Late Cancellations – My fee for missed appointments and cancellations with less than 24 hours notice is $70. This is the least desirable fee to pay (and to collect) because it is wasteful to both client and therapist. Nonetheless, this is a very important fee to respect. It is necessary in order to minimize lost treatment time and a loss of opportunity for another client to take your appointment slot.

In exchange for my clients respecting my policy about missed appointments and late cancellations, I will be respectful and fair regarding various circumstances where appointments need to be changed. I do not charge clients this fee when the weather conditions are clearly hazardous. If an emergency comes up that requires a change on short notice, I will offer you an open appointment time in my schedule if there are any available and waive this fee under those circumstances. Similarly, if you need to cancel or re-schedule on short notice and I can find another client to take your cancelled time slot, I will waive this fee.

Accidents, emergencies, illnesses and childcare misfortunes are common reasons for clients to need to cancel or re-schedule on short notice. I am sympathetic to these circumstances because we all encounter them and they are beyond our control. However, I cannot routinely waive my fee under these circumstances if I am to maintain my practice. If you have concerns about the likelihood of needing to make short notice cancellations, please discuss this with me at the outset of treatment.
